This year’s IWD motto is #ChooseToChallenge. “A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions all day, every day. From challenge comes change, so let’s all choose to challenge. Raise your hand high to show you’re in and that you commit to choose to challenge and to call out inequality.”
Herewith, I am raising my hand and saying: I’m in!
What about you? Are you in too?
Now, where to start? As we all know the best way to start is always with ourselves. Unless we start challenging our beliefs, doubts and standards first, we are not going to succeed in challenging anything else.
In case you have not started to challenge yourself yet, or haven’t challenged yourself enough, this year’s March 8th can be your starting point. Not tomorrow, not the day after, not next week – Today!
Start to challenge your beliefs, motivations, your potential, your decisions and actions. Challenge them from the perspective of courage, confidence and will power and accomplish what you want to achieve. And more importantly not only accomplish what you want to achieve, but make sure that it is noticed, praised, recognised and compensated fairly.
In addition let’s not forget to celebrate those achievements and moments where we courageously challenged things and moved forward.
